We are building a trusted and compliance-led platform dedicated to legal online casino gaming for Indian audiences. To support this mission, we are seeking a highly experienced Legal Advisor (Consultant) with deep expertise in Indian online gambling and gaming law.

This opportunity is ideal for a legal professional who enjoys working at the intersection of law, digital media, and regulated industries, and who excels at translating complex legal frameworks into clear, practical guidance.

The Role

As Legal Advisor, you will serve as the primary authority on Indian gambling and gaming regulation, advising on editorial content, affiliate partnerships, and marketing communications. Your guidance will help ensure that all published materials remain accurate, compliant, and responsibly framed.

This is a remote, part-time consultant role with flexible hours. You will collaborate closely with editorial, SEO, partnerships, and leadership teams to align legal best practices with business objectives while maintaining strong responsible gambling standards.

Key Responsibilities

Legal advisory and interpretation: Provide clear guidance on Indian gambling laws at both central and state levels, including distinctions between games of skill and chance, advertising restrictions, age-gating, KYC/AML considerations, and data protection intersections.
Content and marketing review: Review articles, guides, reviews, and marketing materials to ensure legally accurate language, compliant disclosures, and appropriate disclaimers.
Regulatory monitoring: Track legislative developments, court rulings, and regulatory notices; deliver concise updates and actionable summaries for internal teams.
Risk assessment: Evaluate affiliate partners, campaigns, and content initiatives for legal and reputational risk, recommending mitigation controls and compliant messaging.
Policy and process development: Draft and maintain internal compliance SOPs, review workflows, escalation protocols, and record-keeping standards.
Training and enablement: Conduct periodic briefings for writers, editors, and marketers on compliant terminology, regulatory changes, and responsible gambling communication.
Cross-functional collaboration: Support partnership agreements, disclosure placement, and UX compliance elements in collaboration with commercial and product stakeholders.

Requirements

Law degree (LL.B. or LL.M.) with a strong focus on Indian gambling, gaming, or digital media law.
Proven experience advising iGaming, fantasy sports, poker, skill-gaming, or digital entertainment businesses in India.
Demonstrable knowledge of:
- Central versus state regulatory competencies.
- Advertising, consumer protection, and marketing compliance.
- KYC/AML, age verification, and responsible gambling frameworks.
- Data privacy obligations and their impact on gaming-related content.
Excellent analytical, drafting, and interpretation skills, with the ability to produce plain-language legal guidance.
High standards of professional ethics, discretion, and attention to detail, with comfort working asynchronously.

Nice to Have

Experience reviewing affiliate marketing agreements and disclosures.
Familiarity with FinTech or cryptocurrency-related considerations where applicable.
Background advising content-led or media platforms operating in regulated environments.

Your First 60–90 Days

Days 0–30: Conduct a legal risk audit of priority content and disclosures; define review thresholds and workflows.

Days 61–90: Complete high-priority remediations and propose a quarterly compliance roadmap.
